Nettles (Urtica dioica)

Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)

Peppermint (Mentha piperita)

Milky Oat Tops (Avena sativa)

Red Clover (Trifolium pratense)

Cleavers (Galium aparine)

Spearmint (Mentha spicata) – Useful for indigestion, gas, cramps and spasms. Also helpful for colds, flus and fevers. Often used in blends for flavoring and synergy. It is soothing to the nerves, helps regulate acid/alkaline balance and can also tone the spleen.

Lemon Balm leaves – (Melissa officinalis) – AKA The Gladdening Herb, lifts the spirits. A subtle but powerful anti-viral. It is primarily used to calm and relax the nervous system. A cup of warm lemon balm tea, sweetened with a touch of local honey, is a wonderful remedy for headache, depression and insomnia. Combined with Chamomile, it helps take the edge off a stressful day.

It can also be used for digestive purposes. Possessing a high concentration of essential oils, it has antispasmodic powers and helps relieve gas pains. Because of its antihistaminic properties, it is also used to reduce the effects of allergies. But the best thing about lemon balm is her flavor.

Nettle Leaves(Urtica dioca) - This herbal tonic will benefit the entire body in many ways. It is high in nutrients; vitamins C, K, A, Iron, Calcium and Chlorophyll. Nettle is an excellent nourishing herb for any woman. It is tasty as freshly steamed greens and make a tasty tea. The tea is a mild diuretic and aids in the elimination of excess water and uric acid from body tissues. Nettles also contain histamine which make it beneficial for allergic reactions. This incredible herb works as a blood purifier, a kidney tonic, a lung tonic and a support herb for the reproductive system. Daily infusions help increase bone mass rather than using bone stores. Helps the Kidneys flush out excess metabolic waste.

Red Raspberry leaves – (Rubus idaeus) – Considered the ‘herb supreme’ for pregnancy, raspberry leaf tones and nourishes the uterine muscles, is rich Iron, Vitamin C, B, E, Potassium and calcium. Especially high in naturally chelated iron, which the body can easily assimilate. It enriches and increases the flow of milk, helps restore the system following childbirth (decrease uterine swelling, reduce postpartum bleeding), and is a good all-purpose, pleasant tasting herb to drink during the entire 9 months.

Red Clover Flower – (Trifolium pretense) – Known historically as a blood cleansing herb and a lymph mover. I can be used for skin diseases (psoriasis can internally and externally) and to treat cancer and tumors. https://articles.mercola.com/teas/red-clover-tea.aspx      I met red clover along the riverside in Colorado. It can bind weakly to estrogen receptors, standing in for estrogen when levels are low and/or blocking high estrogen levels, thus rebalancing and relieving symptoms of estrogen deficiency or dominance.

Cleavers (Gallium aparine) This common wild spring plant treats urinary and reproductive organ inflammations. It can help eliminate gravel and stones, relieve swollen lymph glands and is cooling for fevers. Stimulates the liver, can help with skin disorders (psoriasis can internally and externally). I bet if you google cleaver herb picture you will recognize it growing in your yard/around town as a weed.
